North Wales Coasteering

Our Coasteering season is from 1st April - 1st October.

What is Coasteering... Coasteering is climbing, scrambling, swimming, jumping and exploring your way around the sea cliffs of Anglesey, North Wales.

Why North Wales Active...

We have very experienced and qualified Instructors who use quality equiptment and of course the best locations for each activity possible.

This is a great wet & dry day activity!

We have two main coasteering routes, both start & finish at Porth Dafarch, which in its self is a beautiful beach. Coasteering is one of our most popular activities. This is an ideal way to see the amazing Anglesey coastline.

On our coasteering courses we have very experienced and qualified Instructors that have explored and worked on these coastlines through all tidal levels and in all weather.

Coasteering jumps range from sea level - 30ft, these are not all essential to do so start off low and build up to a level that suits you.

Swimming distances' vary and again are not essential to complete the course but being able to swim 50 Metres comfortably is essential.

All our coasteering is located on the beautiful Anglesey coastline in North Wales.

Age range is 10+ but this does depend on weather, conditions and type of coasteering activity booked.

Coasteering

Option 4

This is pure fun. Swimming, jumping, squeezing and climbing your way round one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world and if your lucky taking in some wildlife around the coastline.

Start times: 10.00am or 13.00.

Time: 2 - 2.5 Hours depending on group size and ability

Age: 10+

We do private or mixed groups -

For private groups your group will have an Instructor to yourself. For mixed groups you will be mixed in with other people on your activity session.

Cost - Private Groups

1 - 3 People £175 total.

Coasteering & 100ft Abseil

Option 5

Book this activity deal and the big abseil becomes less than half price.

This is Swimming, jumping, squeezing and climbing your way round one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world and then after a quick break do our Big Abseil. As this can take a few hours please bring some food and drink with you.

We have 2 Abseils: 1 is a 10 minute drive from the coasteering location and the other is located at the coasteering site. We will use 1 or the other depending on weather or tidal conditions on the day.

Start times: 10.00am.

Time: 3.5 - 5 Hours depending on group size and ability.

Age: 10+

We do private or mixed groups -

For private groups your group will have an Instructor to yourself. For mixed groups you will be mixed in with other people on your activity session.

Coasteering & Climbing

Option 6

Book this activity deal and the rock climbing becomes less than half price.

This is Swimming, jumping, squeezing and climbing your way round one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world then after a quick break a rock climbing session with your own private Instructor. As this is an all day adventure please bring some food and drink with you or speak to the instructor on the day about a shop or cafe visit.

Climbing: is a 10 minute drive from the Coasteering location.

Start times: 10.00am

Time: 6 - 6.5 Hours depending on group size and ability.

Age: 10+

We do private or mixed groups -

For private groups your group will have an Instructor to yourself. For mixed groups you will be mixed in with other people on your activity session.

Coasteering Extension

Option 7

Pay a little more and get an extra 30 - 60 minutes coasteering and big jumps.

The extra Coasteering route can be quite tiring so some fitness is essential.

This is available from 1st April - 1st October every year.

Start times: 10.00am or 13.00.

Time: 2.5 - 3.5 Hours depending on group size and ability.

Age: 10+

We do private or mixed groups -

For private groups your group will have an Instructor to yourself. For mixed groups you will be mixed in with other people on your activity session.

Cost - Private Groups

1 - 3 People £200 total.

Full day Coasteering

Option 8

This takes in 2 of our best Coasteering routes. Again this can be quite tiring so some fitness is essential.

Time: 5 - 6 Hours depending on group size and ability.

Age: 10+

Coasteering & Sea level traverse

Option 9

This is an all day activity split in 2. Coasteering in the morning followed by a dry clothing sea level traverse with Harness & Helmet on after a lunch break.

This is only available from 1st April - 1st October every year. As this is an all day adventure please bring food and drink with you.

All our Coasteering is based at one of the most beautiful places in the U.K - Porth Dafarch

Here in North Wales, coasteering is one of the most popular activities we run.

If it's a beautiful day, where better to be than in the sea playing in the waves, climbing on amazing rock, swimming into caves, jumping in the sea and squeezing through natural holes.

If it's a horrible day, then where better to be than in a wetsuit getting wet in swells, zawns and jumping off cliffs! This is a really enjoyable activity no matter the weather. If you're worried about the swimming element then maybe try some Gorge Walking first.

Age restrictions

10 years+ for the activities above however if the Instructor feels the weather is unsuitable or someone is unable then the activity may be altered.

Fitness

You dont have to be super fit to complete our course but some level of fitness and swimming 50 Metres comfortably is essential.

We have great ratios of 1 instructor to 10 people for Coasteering.

This is important as you will recieve more attention for safety and a quality experience from our instructors.

Coasteering and Wildlife

Coasteering in North Wales has become hugely popular and whilst scrambling around the coastline you might see...seals, dolphins, razorbills, mermaid's purse...you don't have to be a wildlife buff to be in awe at the variety of wildlife that can be spotted on a coasteering sesion! The Anglesey coastline is one of the most varied, distinctive landscapes in the British Isles earning is designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to a whole range of wildlife.
