North Wales Canyoning
Canyoning is an action-packed outdoor sport where you travel down narrow, deep Gorges/canyons using a mix of outdoor skills. We will swim, jump, squeeze, abseil & slide down a beautiful Canyon in Eryri (Snowdonia)
We have 3 main Canyons that we use which all have different elements, costs and locations. See below for prices and more information.

Technical Gear we provide
-
Wetsuit: Thick neoprene 3-5MM to to keep you warm in cold, shaded mountain water.
-
Helmet: Essential protection against falling debris and slips on wet rocks.
-
Harness & Cows tail: For any abseiling or clip lines.
-
Buoyancy Aid: Provides flotation in deep, turbulent pools and whitewater sections.
What you need to bring and wear - Essential
-
Do bring: A swimming costume, swimming trunks, or a synthetic UV rash vest if you have one.
-
Please bring shorts for over your wetsuit.
-
Do NOT wear: Cotton underwear or cotton t-shirts. Cotton holds water, stays freezing cold, and causes severe chafing when wet.
-
Do wear: Sturdy, old trainers or running shoes with deep rubber tread. Tie them tightly with double knots so the water pressure cannot pull them off.
-
Do NOT bring: Water shoes, slip-ons, Crocs, or sandals. They do not offer ankle support and slide off instantly in moving water.
Age & Ability
Our Minimum age for 2 of our Canyons is 10 years old and the 3rd Canyon is 14+. We understand some children are more capable than others but if a child or adult is unable to progress down the Canyon the activity maybe altered due to safety. Being able to swim is essential.
Extra Canyon information

Canyoning in North Wales
You will have been given directions to the Canyon during the booking process. There are a few Canyons in North Wales but we use 3 of the best ones. These are all located just outside of Bleanau Ffestiniog / Llan ffestiniog about 30 mins from Betws Y Coed. Now and again we will swap Canyons if the weather is looking changeable this is due to knowing the Canyons very well and knowing which ones get affected by rainfall.
Canyoning in North Wales is an adventurous journey down steep mountain rivers and gorges, where you scramble over rocks, slide down natural water chutes, jump into deep pools and abseil beside waterfalls, all while wearing specialist safety gear and being guided by experienced instructors through this wild, dramatic landscape.
All 3 of these Canyon are extremely beautiful and some parts are often in a protected SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), so we follow strict guidelines to look after the wildlife and natural rock features while we enjoy the adventure.” As a company we attend yearly environmental training to all ways use best practise.
As a company we have the right risk assessments, insurance and qualified and experienced Instructors to work in these enviroments.
